1. How splendid a statue stands before me
Filling the eyes with splendor and majesty

His command to it speaks volumes

3. The sculptor's features depict
So we read in them the finest qualities

4. He is the magnet of hearts to him
Flocks are attracted, seeking to connect

5. Immortal atop a marble pedestal
As time passes beneath him generations

6. The king of the two rivers, people have placed
In themselves hopes for him

7. Genius in him wished to rise high
So he rose high however much he lengthened

8. He protected the people's right, able protector
A day when the left hand aids not the right

9. You see not today but a cheerful glance
And a heart its joys come one after another

10. The nation displayed its loyalty
With a cry from its heart rising on high

11. In the shade of his throne he wished
That his rule become independence

12. And what he wished for before came true
After being fantasy in minds

13. It's no wonder a nation he cared for
Faisal broke the shackles

14. He who drank from the two rivers on land
Grew on it, drinking only the sweetest water

15. Oh father of the nation, after God
The nation relies totally on you

16. You are but the healer of Iraq
In you it hopes to cure its sickness

17. Live for a nation that loves your noble traits
Above all others in pure majesty

18. Live for it in God's protection to ward
Evil from the grasping opportunist

19. O king you are protected by the sword
Polished so you shall not decline

20. And if the land's soil is watered
With freedom it grows only heroes

21. We are a people who set out for glory
Racing in the dark, fearing no misguidance

22. And for peace, we are inclined, though
Peace on earth remains impossible

23. When the thinker ponders, he finds not
The life of nations but through struggle
