1. Come together toward me all at once with spears
And they all ask what my affair is

2. So I said my whole affair is that
I'm exhausted by naked words that have worn me out

3. O son of Sulaym, you are my protection
From an event that startled my neighbors

4. For time has cast me out from its poverty
With the arrow of poverty that is no deceiver

5. My heart became tranquil after having raged
So I became like one greeting the outcast

6. So revive, your soul ransoms me, and from
Whichever of my eminent brothers obeys me

7. And your soul grants me, ransoms for me a lad
Who will repress his sorrow with the head of my devil

8. For he has rebelled and transgressed
And desires the yearning of the adulterer

9. By Allah, then by Allah in suppressing him
Before I wish with authority

10. Leaving me a laughingstock after having
Struck in secret and openly

11. May Allah protect me with your hands, O youth
Well-mannered from the lineage of Qahtan

12. From the donkeys of the people of perversion and deviation
And protection of the fearful and the criminal

13. O best of Allah's creation, you are the one
From whose corruption my devil despaired
