1. I care not if I burden my brothers
With my weight, and give ease through lightening myself,

2. And reject much of everything,
And content myself with the little that is exquisite.

3. And people see me with my inner eye,
Indifferent to their baseness and nobility.

4. I am a servant of the Sincere Friend, sincerely devoted,
While some people are servants of bread.
