1. He sold his soul, his family and homeland
With praise, neither cheating nor regretting,
١. شَرى نَفسَه وَأَهلَهُ وَبلادَه
ثَناءً وَلَم يَبخَس وَلَم يتندّم
2. And left this world though spread out before him,
Adorned, with all its transient treasures.
٢. وَخلّى عَن الدُنيا وَقَد أُفرشت له
محفّلة أَخلافها لَم تصرّم
