Did you not see me be patient with an infirm old man

1. Did you not see me be patient with an infirm old man
Whose ransom was my family and wealth?

2. And had my right hand been paralyzed
I would have isolated it from the left

3. But I was patient with him, for I
Saw patience as the mark of great men

4. A young man who attained glory as a child
And showed manliness while still a youth

5. He brought glory to his people, glory that will last
As long as the firm mountains stand

6. And he was for us a successor to his father
To undertake with strong resolve this heavy task

7. So do not despair, for every man of character
Will grieve them when the nights go by

8. And if you are destined for ruin, you will remain
A glory that does not disappear or fade
