1. My Lebanon smiled with the buds of wildflowers
And good tidings of victory at dawn's first light

2. Flags flutter over it, we are intoxicated
On the tips of spears and lances

3. The enemy overwhelmed it with every hardship
And thought the invasion was a guaranteed success

4. And thought his arrogant wing an eagle
So the rogue returned with a broken wing

5. He came on foot, walking with an affectation
And returned moaning from the pain of blows

6. Behind their fortresses lurked lions
Pounding with bombs and weapons

7. On the Barracks Fortress, or in Beirut
And Chateau d'Eau, Sidon, and the suburbs

8. Bombs rain down upon Ghana
Upon children with brazen aggression

9. In the arenas of battle, on the day we clashed
They fled like flocks of sacrificial lambs

10. For in combat they are nothing but sheep
Led to the slaughter by the force of the ram

11. When the tyrant grew arrogant with his invasion
Injustice spread in all the lowlands

12. We who seek death are its suitors
We who stand firm in every battlefield

13. We are the sharpshooters, skilled in its weapons
So they fled to shelters...like salt miners

14. And we will not settle for less than blood as ink
To print upon the back stabbed by lances

15. He who turns his humiliated back will flee in disgrace
Running...unafraid of shame in escape

16. Fleeing from Lebanon’s soil..he runs away
Too narrow for him are all its regions

17. The fleeing criminal tyrant in the night
Flies away with his feathers..before dawn

18. We are Abu Dajana and Al Muthanna
In the arenas of death, intimate with the sword

19. We are Al Qadisiya's makers
And in Hittin armies of Saladin

20. Thief and Al Amiad are our engineers
And Yahya..the finest of lovers of arms

21. Ahmed al Yassin is enough for us
And Muhiuddin..heroes of struggle

22. He resided in our land for twenty years
Boasting of invasion and conquest

23. And recruited for labor every tail
That he could tread upon..barking excessively

Selling his conscience miserably and cheaply

25. Musaylima..and more immoral than Sijah
When his companion fled in the night

26. He wept..and excessively lamented
The summer resorts of Qrayyatayn are empty

27. And his hands are yellowed and numb
Then the Jews said to him, "It's over for you

28. For your face is not one made for tilling
He who betrays his country lives miserably

29. Vile in the mornings and evenings

30. And he who betrays his clan is nothing but
A raven of separation, black of wing

31. The children of Zion in Lebanon are a lesson
Recited to you..in eloquent speech

32. That our nations seethe with fury
And will not settle for usurped rights

33. Nor accept an invader in their fertile land
Nor accept the children of butchers
