1. Though tribes pitched tents on the mountain clefts
They stretched over me and severed my ties

2. It did not suffice that I lost my youth
And the parting of youth was affliction enough

3. Until their arrows struck me down
After youth, missing friends and loved ones

4. They extended to me their right and their left
The bond of separation and the attack of the voracious

5. They uprooted my origin and destroyed my branch
My father, then pursued my footsteps

6. To Allah belongs that grave, what virtues
Of nobility and beauty of manners lie within

7. Of generosity, dignity, honesty
And chastity, purity of dress

8. Of pleasing traits, gentle as honey
Mixed with the water of clouds

9. Be in the safekeeping of Ahmed, best of creation
Through him we gain favor and beautiful returns

10. May the Guardian envelop you in mercy
Through him we gain favor and beautiful returns

11. That I may see you honored and blessed
In eternity among the maidens of paradise
