1. A tower adorns the red city, erected
By the eminent Imam Al-Ashraf

2. Within it lies a formidable castle, so say
Is it a fortress or built for gladdening?

3. Its walls have left even the articulate wordless
Its beauty is beyond description

4. It shone and each form beheld its reflection
In harmony, a adorned and authored perfection

5. However closely you look, you see engraved figures
Of varied embellishment and decoration

6. A wondrous edifice, created by wisdom
Attained only by the Caliph Yusuf

7. A king, if kings boast of their glory
In speech, the Scripture recites it to us
