1. O beloved homeland, for you is our passion
You have attained the noblest goal and desire

2. History will repeat its glory for you
And the glory of your men will return

3. Assad has gone but his valor isn’t forgotten
And your sons are the progeny of those Assads

4. Sons of Arabs seeking their heritage
Sons have more right to their forefathers

5. They aren’t content with antique relics
Unless they add more to the pile

6. O you who speak emphatic D
What merit is there without worthy people of D?

7. So take pride for you are from a lineage
Whose good name fills forums

8. Isn’t the age of light from their effects?
Its brilliant lights kindled the fuels

9. And knowledge is the fruit their planting yielded
That covered the world with virtues and gifts

10. Justice and kindness are of their virtues
That are too many to be counted

11. And civilization was founded on our principles
Days that have no match or equal

12. When they professed the upright faith
They were the noblest of children

13. Arabs who long to unsheathe their swords
And refuse to sheathe what was unsheathed

14. They are wont not to tire of it
Of the habit of unsheathing from sheaths

15. They are of a household of glory and offspring
From the days of Tubba reaching present

16. Theirs are the swords, peerless
They unsheathe them not except for polishing

17. As if atop pulpits they were planted
Proclaiming eloquently from their scabbards

18. The minbars contain, with their platforms
Horsemen who terrify atop steeds

19. Safeguarding their honor from lowliness
Spending themselves, provisions dispensed

20. If you wish to know a bit of their generosity
Then behold the currents’ flooding streams

21. Or if you wish to know what matches their dreams
Then behold the highest clouds

22. Their nature’s generosity you may ascertain
The generous nature at birth displayed

23. And glory descends from them residing
At a most fragrant and redolent abode

24. Gladden your heart with their mention
For it is gloomy, and their mention heals my heart

25. My people whom I knew, and by their glory
My friends and foes attested to it

26. They confused the ages of time and prime of their youth
While time’s turns did not alter them

27. They lowered themselves only for oppression
Until the best caller summoned them to glory

28. “At your service, O guide to righteousness” their motto
“We sanctify the caller to guidance and righteousness”

29. You who revived the spirits within us
So we rose up, animating our bodies

30. So when will there be an Arab unity
Patriotic in source and revenue?

31. Iraq isn’t my only homeland
The countries of my people are all my homelands

32. And it pleases me that despite my feeble strength
I was strong in my stance and struggle

33. They said: Is there a volunteer or redeemer?
So I offered myself when redeemers were few

34. A fruit passed down by the winged immortals
And a spring the late comers crowded over

35. Is it that after our conscience coalesced, and passions
Coalesced in love and amity

36. There comes in the trail of efforts roused
An opinion, by your life, without merit!

37. We are their pillar and support
As long as the matter requires pillars

38. And reproach over amity has evidence
If reproach comes from amity's avenue
