1. You have the lasting honor though the enemy objects,
My God does not accept but that it lasts forever glorified,

2. They have fallen into decline though they wear the garb of glory,
When they don that gown besides decline what do they have?

3. You are but the sun on earth, it needs no other,
It rises eternal, shining evermore,

4. None maintains the order of the universe but you
God bless you, so we may live and prosper

5. With your light you guide those who lose their path
In religion and worldly affairs your radiance is guidance

6. You have raised the banner of justice in every land
And made the noble and ignoble equal

7. You have bestowed the shade of security there, so none fears
Save those deviants who transgress and impose

8. The enemies claim you are an obstacle
Far from it! May God spare us their enmity

9. You have risen with enlightened knowledge over them
While they endured a long dark night of ignorance

10. To you belongs virtue and benevolence in civilization
In which they don the garment of splendid renewal

11. May God reward you for the oppressors, destroying
What they build of their edifice

12. With what they drew of your light they equipped
Battalions whose fires they keep stoked

13. How they have striven - would that God thwart their efforts!
And that discordant band disperses scattered

14. They want us to live humiliated
And every unyielding soul bows tamed

15. Without removing the mantle of honor he wears the plumage
That adorns the eggs of the Indian ostrich white and viscous

16. They resent nothing in us but religion, which is
An obstruction vexing to their squinting polytheism

17. How they have struggled to demolish its sanctity
And raze its firm structure

18. Were it not for God's defense of the pasture of His faith
The beasts lurking would have wreaked havoc

19. When they approach the religion of Muhammad's
Pure monotheism - none but Muhammad!

20. Our Kaaba in lofty honor protected
Every climber descends from it

21. Tayba has gained might and its gifts
Are far from the filth of celestial bodies

22. The souls of all Muslims
Are ransoms for the land that harbored the Pure Ahmad

23. The grinding stones require only scenes
At which formidable heroes bow down prostrate

24. Upon the corpses of those who died reaching it
They tread the path to it, intent on their goal

25. Will you withhold, O portal of Iraq, seeking protection
In your might or grant concession in humiliation?

26. If the former, O Lord of the place
That witnessed - it has become a scene for the self-denying

27. If the latter you bring upon the Arabs endless
Shame and eternal disgrace

28. It is a day of praise - race unto
Praise and beware you blame it tomorrow

29. You have taken captive the heights of the Arab nation
So release the captive in your protection, fettered

30. The captive of glory is costly to free
And nothing ransoms him but sacrificing souls

31. O Arabs of mettle, unsheathe
Swords summoned by war to unsheathe

32. You are accustomed to plunging into the fray, for
Each person has what they are wont to do

33. Glory is to persevere and recover
While humiliation is to despair and submit

34. It is but a cavalry charge - they bear
Spears thrust by hands expert and precise

35. Charge it, whether youth or experienced
For you face an arrogant transgressing enemy

36. Wear nothing but courage, for it is
Armor of might, not fiimsy linked mail

37. With every young man who shows valor in battle
And presses on when the timid turn tail

38. Obeyed, their palms redden the spears
Which their munificence verdantens

39. With a sign from you the darkness will be dispelled
And bared blades will flash lightning

40. Why do we squeeze our eyes shut at humiliation?
Has not the time come to reject disgrace?

41. The Merciful has promised to aid His faith
And the Merciful never breaks a promise

42. May you have all good - be therein ransomed
And I seek refuge for you against being a saboteur

43. Each day my core is in tatters as I
Fend off Crusader raids and transgression

44. Morocco complains - and likewise Algiers -
Plotted against in ways that rend hearts and livers

45. Tunis - after intimacy its quarters are desolate
Its weather has grown darker and colder

46. If you wish to shed tears over the faith take note
But copious tears accomplish nothing

47. Stop in Tripoli, stand grieving
Over its vanished glory, ruined and decayed

48. Nor have I forgotten events in Romania
To which the forebearing are driven mad

49. And in India - turn your eyes to see
Injustice manifest, embodied

50. It has declined after splendor and heights
And spurned after desires and effort

51. The richest of God's lands it was, recently,
Now it is a refuge for destitution

52. Its treasures have reverted to George as spoils
Adorning the crowned elite's bejeweled crowns

53. And if you come to Egypt, home of virtue
Where the people prosper and excel

54. Convey to the influential and elite among them
Words that hurl embers chanted in verse

55. And say to them: how can you sleep through
The humiliation of the noble amidst you?

56. It is as if you have been made to drink the dregs
Of wretchedness, having no recourse but prostration

57. Come, let us regain glory and supremacy
With some of us aiding others, attaining bliss

58. For that which you have sought to attain
Has come within reach, though distant before

59. Our unity gives us might, its foundation
Is the groundwork upon which our glory is built

60. The enemies have seized from us only what
Strays to become a lone recluse

61. He whose goal is a life of disgrace
Attains neither hopes nor aims

62. He in whose soul nobility resides
Lives nobly or dies praiseworthy

63. When the people do not mend the cracks in their nation
With sharp swords, the entity becomes threatened

64. Make nothing but resolute determination your protection
And seek nothing but bared blades as support

65. Nothing kills disease like the polished sword
And nothing need be said of the courageous warrior when he bares

66. Through it truth emerges most radiant
Its brightness kindled with flashes of lightning flames
