1. Intellect shone from you into existence,
So your state illuminated the darkness with light.

2. A pearl may shatter from its radiance,
The shell of grace then shines with brilliance.

3. O Imam, your position is most sublime,
The mansions of heaven fall short of your glory.

4. Are not the stars of the sky but your attributes?
With their blossoms the sky is adorned.

5. For you God created a being
In which He perfected His making as He willed.

6. From its aroma wafted scents
That delighted the surroundings with their fragrance.

7. Words are exhausted and meanings ended,
Yet your meanings have no end.

8. You are the highest and most exalted,
Too lofty for praises to draw near.

9. Revelations descended in your praise,
Proclaiming your supremacy loudly.

10. You are the evident Imam in His description,
Enumerating all things in His exposition.

11. God filled your vast heart with knowledge,
Too confined for what the heavens contain.

12. Its hidden contents point to the unseen,
Uncovering the veil and covering.

13. Whoever You guide finds the path,
Becoming loyal to You is true guidance.

14. None cross the Bridge but the loving ones,
Given passage through loyalty and devotion to You.

15. To you belongs the Abundance from which
The seekers of truth drink their fill, while hearts thirst.

16. The refuge of those fearing every horror
On a day with neither protectors nor intercessors.

17. You are the portal of the Prophet’s knowledge,
The best of creations, and the shining Madinah.

18. With you lies knowledge - the knowledge of the Book,
Subjugating all things to its command.

19. Asaf had but a fraction of it,
While you compiled all sections.

20. On the day when the Throne comes near
While Sheba to him is Sanaa.

21. You are the radiance to Ahmad’s lamp,
How excellent are radiances from light!

22. You supported and counseled him,
In days of honor, support and brotherhood.

23. You were his defender when he slept
At times when none would defend the Prophet.

24. Steadfast though swords thirsted for you,
You did not waver or worry.

25. Your manifest virtue, but eyes do not see
The sun impaired or blind.
