1. When the Greeks' deeds turned evil,
And they stopped heeding our rebuke and advice,

2. Though we were forgiving, they sought war,
And their sins exceeded pardon and forgiveness.

3. We returned to the rule of the sword between us,
For no rule rivals the spear and blade.

4. We accepted what the council of war decreed,
That battle is better than peace.

5. Our cannons kept raining smoke upon them,
With tongues of fire in eloquent speech.

6. And our swords recited after the smoke,
As did our cannons, until Surat Al-Fath was completed.
