1. With the path of righteousness, decades of pearls
Oh pearls of the path, you are the precious

2. A garden of virtue for our eyes
Its flowers and fruits are pleasing

3. Subtleties that captivate the eye of the literate
So the eye did not look at them except yearningly

4. Rarities in them the intimacy of souls
And its splendor and the clarity of sight

5. To God the eloquent book
With the beauty of meanings, a book that came to us

6. Oh writer of this era, this book
An anthem from one who passed or dusted

7. A book that is comfort for composers
With its joy every composer became happy

8. In it the images of beauty were illustrated
To God the maker of those images

9. He has achieved outstanding virtue
Above the common exemplar

10. By it the revolving sphere circulated
Its pearls filling the sight

11. When the precious pearl
Of precious pearls adorned it

12. Ingots which he refined with the unique
Unique in qualities, majestic in danger

13. So for its author are many a hand
Thanking it, who thanked

14. Ali, son of Musa bin
Ja'far, that eminent imam

15. Stars of the shining sky of sublimity
A star shone and a star blossomed

16. Suns of their virtues still
Flow and their house is settled

17. At the summit of glories there appeared to him
Radiant, his years outshining the moon

18. He attempts to describe his eloquence
But is restricted, and he is the trustworthy restrictor

19. He is the sea that narrates knowledge
So there pours from him an overflowing river

20. And in every science he has a sign
Pointing to the unambiguous verses

21. He elucidates the ambiguities if they are obscured
With the brilliance of thought

22. So his talent is fruitful
In solving issues of consideration

23. He has a skillful, creative pen
When he composes, the ink flows

24. His five fingers move with it
So he possesses ten minds of men

25. And when I saw you, O final verse of the poem
Its meaning, his majesty innovating

26. I praised the steadfastness of a time which perfected
And perfected with the like of you when it felt
