1. Stop weeping even if you are saddened by the like of it,
And rise quickly on the path of its justice.
١. خل البكاء وإن رزئت بمثله
وانهض سريعا في طريقة عدله
2. Verily glory's pillars have been demolished,
And glory has become a consolation for its people.
٢. إن العلاء تهدمت أركانه
والمجد صار معزيا في أهله
3. Merit has become but a tale in the wilderness,
After we inhaled its noble traits.
٣. والفضل أضحى في البرية ذكره
من بعد ما شمنا شمائل فضله
4. Justice has unlocked its door after,
We had hoped to open its locked lock.
٤. والعدل أرتج بابه من بعد ما
قد كان يرجى فتح مغلق قفله
5. Generosity and favour, both
Have become ruins after their origin.
٥. والجود والمعروف كل منهما
أضحى هشيما بعده من أصله
6. So rise to the heights and build its citadels,
For if you leave the heights, disgrace will don its shoes.
٦. فانهض إلى العلياء وابن حصونها
فالعجز إن تذر العلاء لنعله
7. And tread the path of the virtuous, follow
Their traces, and guard your protection and elevation,
٧. واسلك على نهج الأفاضل واتبع
آثارهم وامنع حماك وأعله
8. And be patient with the turns of time, even if
What has afflicted a people in their time is like it.
٨. واصبر على نوب الزمان وإن يكن
ما راب قوما دهرهم في مثله
9. For God has a time in which the righteousness
Of the people of Al-Besaita, his favour and justice.
٩. لله دهر عم فيه صالح
أهل البسيطة فضله مع عدله
10. Indeed he has bought the traits of nobility with his state,
Wealth, people and progeny.
١٠. لقد اشترى شيم الكرام بحاله
وبماله وبقومه وبنسله
11. Verily glory has ruled, and in its rule
There is no doubt that glory lies in it and its cubs.
١١. إن العلى حكمت وما في حكمها
ريب بأن المجد فيه وشبله
