1. O eye, shed tears profusely
Then lament, O eye, for the loss of the beloved

2. And wail for one killed who tomorrow lies
Alone and a stranger amidst the grasses

3. And cry for Sulayman, do not neglect him
For his matter, by Allah, is wondrous indeed

4. He who did not think of enemies
When he drew his sword from its sheath

5. And foes were wary of his might
As if they were sand dunes in number

6. So O dove of the vale, moan now
For one who was a fresh branch

7. And inform Khaled of what transpired
That he may weep with pouring tears

8. And tell Al-Miqdad afterwards
That Abdullah is now a captive

9. Nay, eulogize the virtuous after them
And every troop afflicted by tribulation

10. The crusaders will not meet good
Nor their armies, sons of the cross

11. They lay in wait with an army against us
On the day of battle, every cunning knave

12. And bless those who gave us victory
In every valley, then nearby conquests

13. We will take revenge on their multitude
Openly and quench the flame of anguish
