1. I sent a complaint to you the morning of my thirst
And I did not doubt that I would be rescued

2. For I wrote until my pen betrayed me
And I hesitated until the roads wearied me

3. You are a man whose generosity is abundant and attainable
Whose care is flowing and whose gifts are generous

4. So send me the essence of comfort, resembling
From me, poetry, and from you, virtue and creation
