1. After my rosary broke, I donned the coat of mail of the resolute Hāzim,
Our love and intimacy will not be joined together,

2. Nor will the two swords be sheathed in one scabbard,
Nuʿmān, you are a treacherous deceiver,

3. Your conscience hides something other than what you reveal.
So if the carving of our idols appears to you,

4. Then it is upon you, if you are a man of valor,
To refuse to allow us to be dignified,

5. While our origin is from the giver of glorious deeds.
If you take pride in Al-Kharqāʾ, our family

6. Will meet the battalions before you and repel them.
Did you think we were flesh for biting?

7. Or did you think us feeble in war and unable to help?
And you plotted against us while we were afflicted,

8. Yet plotting is a sign of your premeditation.
You brandished your sword in order to fight us,

9. So look, by your sword, whom do you repel?
You desired the plan of the brave Hāzim,

10. Confused about which treacherous one brought it to ruin,
And the path was illuminated for you and the ways

11. To the roads and guidance spread for you.
