1. Peace upon the abode of the Caliphate and victory
A complete peace that cannot be fully comprehended

2. Peace upon its flags and lands
And whoever yearned for Islam, prohibition, and command

3. Peace, and is there anyone who would listen to my complaint?
For it would soften the harshest of rocks

4. My greatest greetings and utmost affection
Are for the one God left in righteousness on land and sea

5. Abu Yusuf, essence of existence, the one to whom
The lands are indebted for guidance and conquest

6. Caliph of the best of Muslims, Muhammad
Supporter of Islam, disgracer of the foremost disbelievers

7. The East and West of the lands submitted to him
And by the grace of God, his prestige was raised

8. He established the banners of religion everywhere
And destiny assisted him from where it was least expected

9. He generously gave gold dinars
And his generosity did not diminish in hardship or ease

10. He had already revived the Hanifi faith
And brought it to life among the people through good, not evil

11. Whoever conveys greetings to the Sultan from me
Exceeding the fragrance of musk and perfumed wood

12. And after this, whoever makes the people hear his voice:
Lo! O Imam of the Muslims, hear my matter!

13. Lo! My Lord did not create you in His image
To violate the protected people on land and sea

14. News has come to you from the Hafizi
Telling of what afflicted them from harm

15. If you know it, then woe to you
And if you do not know, then God knows

16. You strut about in luxurious garments
Shy to uncover the protected ways for them

17. If I have erred in the rhyme and meter
Then overlook the great nonsense in my poetry

18. When al-Mukhtar faced the deeds of his people
Who oppressed him, separating him from family and in-laws

19. Expelling him from his home and abode
Abandoning him at night in a desolate wasteland

20. In the cave of Hira, whatever harm befell him
And his friend supported him in that cave

21. The Prophet's only crime was saying:
“Lo! My Lord is God, Master of sovereignty and command”

22. If you find shortcoming in what I have composed
Then counter great nonsense from me with veiling

23. This is Hassaan upon another's shoulder
Clanging when he saw the waning of the full moon

24. So what of one whose family and dependents
He sees in times of woe, breaking their backs

25. Including all his children and protected relations
Their tears flowing in the heat of fiery affliction

26. You are the Sultan of all the realms
And the Merciful made you successor for prohibition and command

27. So listen to the envoys who came to them with messages
To your messengers, so they obeyed without refusal

28. Yet their reward was like those who war with their Lord
And seek corruption in the lands and seas

29. So by God, O Sultan who turns the spheres
And O source of benevolence in bonding and dispersing

30. Be gentle with us and follow the word of our Prophet
That you may be saved from obstinacy and burden

31. For there is no escape from a day of severe reckoning
When the servant will stand for gathering and dispersing

32. And be questioned about our affairs
And the affairs of the Azd people - I mean the protected lineages

33. And you will know on that day the evil consequence
Of what you did in scattering, imprisoning, and forcing

34. Unless you quickly release us
That you may be saved from torment and loss
