Though forgiveness is best for him, he hoped for Your mercy

Evil befell him and took control of his soul

3. I beseeched You, Master of masters, pleading
As a lowly servant pleads to his Lord

4. To set right my heart and forgive my missteps
To accept my repentance and heed my deed

5. It's no wonder I made this wish, for I
Have high hopes in the One so gracious and kind
