1. Entrust the matter to Allah and know
That what He has decreed will come to pass

2. And if that is sound to you, then understand
That to occupy your conscience with it is madness

3. Is not the opposite of stillness but motion?
And the opposite of motion none but stillness?

4. Thus time passes until
Death encompasses both worlds

5. And the sleepers rise to what
Eyes have been lined with life

6. To gardens where they abide
Or a fire wherein is wretched torment
