1. How long have I immersed myself in following my desires,
And did not avoid drowning myself in them?

2. Grey hairs have covered me, which I did not refuse,
So why should I spend my night in vain when my sun has risen?

3. With my own hands I planted sins persistently,
And no doubt I have reaped the fruits of what I sowed.

4. To Allah I complain of the garment I clothed myself with
And I start and end my days sunk in sins.

5. So pity my loneliness for the evil my hands presented
If there is no mercy for me in the grave where I will reside.
