1. My hoary head made me weep when it smiled,
And my phantom pain returned when I fell ill,

2. Of a love lost in her abandonment,
He contents himself with her love in dreams,

3. His yearning pictured her image
In a wakeful thought that did not sleep,

4. So the heart rekindles an ember that flares,
And the eye sheds copious tears that harmonize,

5. Radiant Ghidaa is the crown of beauty without equal,
For her he sacrifices though he is but a slipper’s strap,

6. Her stature produced a sprout in pomegranate,
And from her limbs a tendril in grapes,

7. The brilliance of Lamiya reveals pearls from anklets,
That burn with lights the wings of darkness,

8. The chill of longing is cooled by her saliva’s sweetness,
It calls you to it with a mark and scent,

9. The dawn in its rise defeats,
And the night in its setting is defeated,

10. I see people’s differing mad for hunting,
Some Arabic and some Persian,

11. And Ali's son Hassan a lord and master,
Without contention amongst all nations,

12. Empowered in his grip a bare blade,
With it he bolstered the faith of guidance and took refuge,

13. From his palm he disperses benevolence,
And thereby maintains composed unity,

14. When he says “yes” the executor is generous, so rejoice at the attainment of bounty,
And discerning of limits when asked,

15. He surges towards striking the hills and flames,
With it he seizes the zebra's head plucking,

16. As the omission of the soft letter conclusively,
He maneuvers the spear along its length,

17. As if it were a pen being maneuvered,
If he threatens death with his hands,

18. The full moon hides from him in the darkness,
With it those lost in their night are guided,

19. The fire brandishing the torch’s head kindled,
Hopes kiss his hand,

20. Which for all mouths is outstretched,
With Allah he is victorious in his war,

21. From his enemies, the avenger for Allah,
In his spacious abode is the heaven of highness,

22. Rising stars of ambitions,
How many blows his sword landed,

23. It is an eloquent tongue and they a mouth,
The steeds of turmoil trot around him,

24. Stallions black as the darkest night,
O you whom we found generosity in your expenditure,

25. Fulfilling hopes and ending despair,
You remained in rule to protect the sublime,

26. And champion the faith and shepherd promises,
