1. Whenever silence brings wretchedness,
Yearning comes to me beyond endurance,

2. The driver of sorrows and the woeful wind,
And the horizon a flute with a mournful tune.

3. Above this firmament a drowsy glance,
And a tender, delicate stream recalling spring.

4. And a languishing beloved whose branch,
When he smiles, you say “Glory to the Creator”.

5. After them do not leave me lonely,
Take my heart, all my throbbing as intercessor.

6. Oh how the heart in the wilderness of passion
Whenever a caller summons it does not obey.

7. My life with it is nearly spent,
Like Moses' people when all went astray.

8. O Hidden Subtlety, realize my estrangement,
My soul is nearly lost from my soul.

9. And my sins a humiliating discard
In the sanctuary of the spirit chanting “O All-hearing”.

10. If you judge us with justice and equity,
The obedient would surpass the disobedient in love.

11. So protect my heart, I am a vessel
Whose safety was pierced by wickedness.

12. A downpour after me and my sin parching,
Passion a wolf and my dreams a flock.

13. So fill with love a wandering heart
Who by fancy continues to water every meadow.

14. Bowing in awe of the Majesty, and in
His eyes the compassion of a lowly servant.

15. Yearning in hope he will not encounter
The prophets of God with a heinous sin.

16. Purify him and plant next to his sides approval
Like the approval residing in the sands of Al-Baqee.

17. Be for him an ally, join him, and protect him,
For he is in the grip of his overpowering world.

18. Take him from the state of despair that extinguished
Above his shoulders to a lofty state.

19. If the clay of sins has touched him
And sorrow gave him a cup from the frequent pouring.

20. His spirit a lantern of light, if the night
Traveled in its splendor, the night will not be lost.
