2. In blaming him you've crossed a certain line,
With gentleness, since that would help, opine,

8. He sees this world holds nothing left to give,
And homeward bound, bereft of will to live,

While many being loved cannot avail,

10. No toil or rest brings sustenance guaranteed,
All lotted portions by the Lord decreed,

11. Yet people strive, you'll find none satisfied,
Beyond his needs, but wishing to provide,

12. Wealth's apportioned, let not your greed impale,
For greed destroys and avarice cannot avail,

Rising in Baghdad, radiant from afar,

15. I bid farewell, my soul wished to remain,
The sweetness of life left, ne'er to come again,

A cup of sorrow shall I drink always,

Rejecting ruin for reason's true force!

Thoughts of him steal sweet slumber, nights I've wept,

30. Will days of bliss with you again commence?
Or nights gone by ne'ermore come back from whence?

For one whose oath of friendship I profess,

32. As he keeps faith with me, I shall acclaim,
A friend I'll honor, and preserve his name,

34. I'll patient be, though time no pleasure gives,
Of him, or me, while separately we live,

35. Knowing relief will come if I remain calm,
The narrowest strait seems wider if kept balm,

36. Nights that us sundered, bodies shall unite,
Fate will bring us together, reunite,
