1. When I lighten up, as in the days of youth,
Forty five refuses that,
١. إذا ما خَفَفْتُ كَعَهْدِ الصِّبا
أَبَتْ ذَلِكَ الْخَمْسُ والأَرْبَعونا
2. My weight has not become heavy with old age,
But I drag behind me the years.
٢. وَما ثَقُلَتْ كِبَراً وَطْأَتي
وَلَكِنْ أجُرُّ وَرائي السِّنينا
