1. You left Ummāmah behind for long
And your abandonment was only beautiful
١. هَجَرتَ أُمامةَ هَجرا طَويلا
وَما كانَ هَجرُكَ إِلّا جَميلا
2. Not out of hatred or boredom
But out of shyness and awe
٢. عَلى غَيرِ بُغض وَلا عَن قِلى
وَإِلّا حَياءَ وَإِلّا ذُهولا
3. You know we were stingy because of your stinginess
So how can one stingy person blame another?
٣. بَخِلنا لِبُخلِك قَد تَعلَمينَ
فَكَيفَ يَلومُ بَخيلٌ بَخيلا
