1. He illuminated the earth with the lights of prophethood
A star whose height even the sun could not reach

2. No sooner did he shine than the world
Began to look forward to his coming closer

3. While the universe was immersed in deep darkness
A window for light was opened in Mecca

4. And Islam inundated a raging sea
With the glories of lofty ideals and chivalry

5. Whoever saw the Arabs in their vigor
Knew the sea and did not ignore its depths

6. Indeed in Islam there is glory for the Arabs
Indeed in Islam there is brotherhood for all people

7. So study Islam, O ignorant one
You will find in it God's wrath and tenderness

8. O Messenger of God, we are a nation
Misguidance threw it into the deepest abyss

9. That was the ignorance which you fought against
It did not cease to show hostility to the East

10. Say to your followers: Pray and study
Religion is guidance and knowledge is strength
