1. The days have shone bright, dispelling the darkness of time,
And the oppressors were cursed, their backs broken,

2. The evildoers have turned their backs in retreat, overwhelmed
By the power of fate's ruler.

3. Victory from Allah has come, and the opening is at hand,
To our victorious King, our master - triumph!

4. Saviour of mankind, sun of the age and its full moon,
He of highest station, most worthy to rule.

5. What a glorious opening it is, ornament of the sublime,
Link between worldly life and gain of the times.

6. Allah willed only victory upon victory and raised him
To the pinnacle of greatness, or crest of the full moon.

7. He installed him in power’s center, as though he
Were a sphere influencing our weal or woe.

8. And privileged him, above other kings, with virtues
Outshining the brilliant sun and plentiful rain -

9. When mentioned, the aroma spreads like
The most fragrant resin burnt over embers.

10. A young man mature in wisdom, experience and dignity,
Who fills the hopeful with abundant bounty.

11. His ambition's height, I reckoned, would keep
The stars forever coursing through the heavens.

12. He will shepherd the Muslims and defend them,
God, his keeper, has undertaken to grant victory.

13. O King who left carnage, ruin and captivity behind!
You came at the auspicious hour, your arrival good fortune,

14. So you made Time’s face beautiful, with joy and cheer.
Do you not see the missives of Spring, its messengers proclaim:

15. “Here is Spring, close behind!”
A gentle, soothing breeze, giving life its charm,

16. Dragging the earth's gown, scented with perfume.
And soil, exuding Spring's breath, ambergris -

17. What exquisite fragrance and ample greenery!
And clouds resembling your tranquility, as though

18. Raining wine, camphor and myrrh.
So revive your spirit by drinking joy - truly,

19. It is weary from the white and black of battle.
And rest, having attained perfect fortune,

20. At the highest summit, in greatest longevity.
