١. وَآلَيتِ أَن لا تَكتُبي فَفَجَعتِني
بِأَكبَرِ شَيءٍ مِنكِ كانَ يَكونُ
2. Revive a young man who died of worries and forgive
Your oath if you swore one
٢. فَأَحيي فَتىً قَد ماتَ هَمّاً وَكَفِّرِي
يَمينَكِ إِن كانَت عَلَيكِ يَمينُ
3. If what I complain of to you I complained
To a rock, it would soften for that
٣. فَلَو أَنَّ ما أَشكو إِلَيكِ شَكوتُهُ
إِلى صَخرَةٍ كانَت لِذاكِ تَلينُ
4. And in my heart is what should not be revealed
Except to you, since the messenger is trustworthy
٤. وَفي القَلبِ ما لا يَنبَغي أَن أَبُثَّهُ
سِواكِ عَلى أَنَّ الرَسولَ أَمينُ
