1. The fragrance of basil reminds me
Of one whose name gives my soul solace
١. أَصبَحتُ أَذكُرُ بِالرَيحانِ رائِحَةً
مِنها فَلِلنَفسِ بِالرَيحانِ إيناسُ
2. Yet I shun the jasmine in my wariness
When told that within it lies half her name
٢. وَأَمنَحُ الياسَمينَ البُغضَ مِن حَذَري
عَلَيكِ إِذ قيلَ لي شَطرُ اِسمِهِ الياسُ
