1. I fear to complain to you, though I have no control over what I encounter and conceal of passion,
By Allah, I don’t conceal what I have of love for you, but you complain deliberately,

2. I will be patient, not complain to you, and be content with your knowledge that I have been worn down by rejection.
My mistress, for God's sake have mercy on me,

3. Lighten my sorrows and bring near the fulfillment of promises.
Alas! My turning to the eastern side of Al-Mahdi's camp has exhausted my tears.

4. And I am thirsty, and the water is present, but there is no way to obtain it.
I did not fear that my demise would be at the hands of the dearest of all people to me.

5. If God's creation were with me, I would be lonely and desolate when she was absent.
