٢. وَلَو اَنَّ اللِقاءَ مِن قَبلِ أَن يَر
تَدَّ طَرفي رَأَيتُ ذاكَ بَعيدا
3. Desires have veiled her from me, though
I struggle on, relying on hope alone
٣. حَجَبوا دُونَها الأَماني وَإِنّي
جاهِدٌ أُعمِلُ الرَجاءَ وَحيدا
4. If we saw a day of darkness
We would take it as a celebration lasting forever
٤. فَلَو اَنّا نَرى ظُلَيمَةَ يَوماً
لَاِتَّخَذناهُ آخِرَ الدَهرِ عيدا
