1. When speech is complete, its beauty shines,
And he who speaks truthfully hits his mark.

2. Solomon, when petitioned,
Is the most generous giver, fulfilling hopes.

3. He forgives you and makes easy his gentleness,
Commands right then does it himself.

4. As if what he gives is asked back from him,
And he doesn’t consider time's favor upon him a favor.

5. How much blood did he take on
That you undertook and its weight did not humble you.

6. God helped you so its heaviest burden was lightened,
Upon you with reward, and you are its sum.

7. May God reward you for what you interpreted,
With a spirit that clears away every worry that afflicts it

8. And a carrier who didn't know where his question was,
Befuddled by the evils of years that confused him,

9. Until he cried out for help to the source of his hope,
From you and from a banner whose holder was shaken.

10. You, O son of the righteous, are his hope.
You have spared us an intense time that shook us,

11. In a strife which it kindles and inflames
And the tree of strife is bitter, its fruit intense.

12. Its twisted branches are dried out and withered
And it was at the gates of Iraq, most stubborn,

13. Killing this one here and that one killing him
Like stages with no known destination.

14. And the army was confined by a barrier enveloping it.
Were you not an agent of justice, acting with justice,

15. An agent of God whom He does not disappoint.
Were it not for God's defense, we know it not,

16. And the son of Ali, his majesty did not appear
To defend us when its shadows turned upon us

17. And the tumult of evil lengthened its twilight
And hit the misguided with their misguidance.

18. Wandering, its shepherd and protector neglected,
Were you not to see the clear, upright path.

19. And justice suffices you; the most just of straying
Until its justice and burdens were balanced.

20. By God, if not for you, its incline would have lengthened
Or the white line of argument was rent.

21. And the most wretched of two there made their home
And the striking angels descended fully upon them

22. Burning the claws of affliction, striking them down.
O son of Ali, placed in exalted Ali,

23. In a noble one, whose height exceeds the tallest,
To an assistance whose might was not diminished

24. And prevailed in the lower parts of the lion,
His firmness never to be shaken,

25. In the generous Hashimites, his resolve molded.
So the last glory is yours and the first

26. And the greatest grace is yours and the fullest.
For you a wound whose wetness does not dry

27. Freeing you from all defects that restrict you
Overcoming the key of youths in their prime

28. Difficulty is a gateway and the wicked are its fare
The most wicked of God's land is a land that accepts it

29. Its vile impulsiveness precedes the forebearance of the forbearing
Indecency and the wrongdoer's trespass is his trespass

30. His vileness, greed, and stinginess
When truth opposes him, his wrangling is little

31. He is enraged by the criticism of the weak
And he is not seen except secretly is his entrance

32. His place is found behind the two shoulder blades
His hope is not to the glory of high station

33. So every groaner and near one makes him anxious
His own craft debases him and degrades him

34. The furthest relative shames his kinsmen
He himself is the wicked one and his friend

35. And opponent of injustice, his shackles do not cease
You wrested away from him with argument or killed him

36. If you left him, his cunning did not avail him
Anything when truth became clear in its transfer

37. And you stood by truth, so his tyranny was lost
In a doctrine that makes straying stray even more

38. There his scheming and position ended
So the disease of his spleen grew long

39. And prevailed in the place of descent and its descent
