1. O Hakam son of Mundhir son of Al-Jarud
You are the generous son of the praised generous one
١. يا حَكَمُ بْنَ المُنْذِرِ بْنِ الجارُودْ
أَنْتَ الجَوادُ بْنُ الجَوادِ المَحْمُودْ
2. You grew up with generosity and with the growth of generosity
And wood can grow from wood
٢. نَبَتَّ في الجَوْدِ وَفِي نَبْتِ الجُودْ
وَالعُودُ قَدْ يَنْبُتُ فِي أَصْلِ العُودْ
3. The canopy of glory is spread over you
When some of the deceivers are plotting
٣. سُرادِقُ المَجْدِ عَلَيْكَ مَمْدُودْ
أَنَّى وَبَعْضُ المُفْتِنِينَ داوُودْ
4. And Joseph was almost trapped by the schemes
٤. وَيُوسُفٌ كادَتْ بِهِ المَكايِيدْ
