1. Spread your wings toward a turbulent sea
With determination, its sword and tumult are damascened

2. Until justice speaks through you
In its majesty and most noble morals

3. Say to the Commander of the Muslims, he by whom
The darkened times were illuminated

4. You who never acted unjustly, nor
Did injustice flow upon your sword, blood

5. You equalized in your justice between mankind
Until the glorious and the damned were made equal

6. And you stood for God seeking reward so indeed
You stand against those who tyrannize and commit crimes

7. And all the people of Syria you have treated
With justice, so why should I be deprived?

8. You judged me according to passion’s demand
And that is not what one who rules should do

9. Who will do justice for the oppressed among us
When you are—God forbid—the one who oppresses?

10. You are God’s shade on earth
Restraining those who oppress or are impudent

11. So none should impugn the reward of jihad
To which, before all mankind, you rose unblemished
