1. Say to the one wearied by the changes of fortune
Do you see that your weariness is not without end?
١. قُل لِلمَلُول الذي أَعيا تَلَوُّنُهُ
تُرى مَلاَلَك هَذا غيرَ مَمْلُولِ
2. When I neglect that which saddened me, he comes
With a sin other than that which is not unknown
٢. إذَا تَجاهلتُ عمّا ساءَ مِنهُ أتَى
من الصُّدودِ بذَنبٍ غيرِ مَجهولِ
3. And I have never gathered except I came apologizing
To him, but my apology is not accepted
٣. وما جَنَى قطُّ إلاّ جئتُ مُعتَذِراً
إِليهِ لكنَّ عُذري غيرُ مقبولِ
