1. Like a fountain of the righteous king's bounty
Quenching the thirsty with its pouring heed.

2. Clouds of goodness, lightning strikes for enemies;
A king whose humility adds majesty, inspiring awe then delight.

3. A feared authority, hoped-for clemency,
Frank magnanimity, charming mien.

4. When turtle doves cooed in the boughs,
My ode was sweet to hear and caught his fancy.

5. Candor's grace in him will never fade.
Not all who hear are inclined towards honesty.

6. O commander of armies, you remain
A pillar of faith and religion, unwavering.

7. The call for holy war - how quickly
You answered, O king of noble deeds.

8. A just ruler who illuminated faith,
And spread Islam's dawn far and wide.

9. Preoccupied with spreading good, waging holy war,
He has no time for pagans and injustice.

10. Like a sword, his heart is smoothed and sharpened,
Gentle yet firm, a blade made keen.

11. With forbearance that makes hostile folly
Seem rash, and seals his enemies' ruin.

12. So take refuge, two caverns, from darkness' cloak,
Where Islam's lightning crackles and flashes bright.
