١. يا مُوعِدِي بالوَصْلِ وعداً لا يَرى
فيهِ المَؤمِّلُ للتّقاضِي مَوضِعَا
2. I have become, in my love for you, like one who calls out his echo
With no fortune save that his call may be heard
٢. أصبحتُ في حُبِّيْكَ كالدّاعِي الصّدى
ما إنْ لَهُ حظٌ سِوى أن يَسمَعَا
3. Yet the fortune of your love has denied sustenance to my body
Vanishing my sleep and drawing forth my tears
٣. لكنَّ حظَّ هَواكَ من جِسمي ضَنىً
بَادٍ نَفَى نَومِي وأَفْنَى الأَدْمُعَا
