1. O Imād al-Dīn, you are there for all who call upon you,
Whoever calls on you for aid, you are the best pillar of support,

2. You rise to give him victory out of generosity whenever
His kin and loved ones hold back.

3. Your sublime character has destined you for greatness
And for the generosity you inherited from your forefathers.

4. My longing for you does not leave me in my solitude,
My yearning and separation from you is difficult to bear.

5. For in Damascus, where you now reside,
I remain distraught and isolated without you near.

6. One like yourself, if sought, would not be found
Among people today, of that there is no doubt.

7. The times were brightened by your presence, and now
Without you here, grief's dark clothes abound.
