1. The small sin, if its harm is counted,
And its words in the conscience bleed and shrivel,
١. مُسْتصغَرُ الذْنبِ إن عُدّتْ إساءتُهُ
وكَلْمُهَا في الحشَا يَدْمَى ويَنْقَرِفُ
2. Is like the speck in a man's eye he belittles,
Yet its prick makes his tears flow unceasing.
٢. مثلُ القَذاةِ بعينِ المرءِ يَحقِرُها
ودَمعُهُ أبداً من وخْزِها يكِفُ
