1. O you who blame the lover, leave him be, for rarely

١. يا لائِمَ المشتَاقِ دعْهُ فَقَلّمَا
يُصغِي إلى نُصحٍ وَوَعظٍ بَالغِ
2. The lover's heart is brimming full with
His longings futile, to an empty heart indifferent.
٢. تَلحَى المحبَّ وقلبُه ملآنُ من
حَسَراتِه عَبثاً بقَلبٍ فَارغِ
3. Spare your blame, his love's torment suffices him
And rather seek the abundant bounty magnificent.
٣. دَعْ لَومَه فكفَاهُ تعذِيبُ الهَوى
واستَبِقْ عَافيةَ النّعِيم السّابغِ
