Deceive you, though his face beams with delight;
١. لا يخدعنّك لفظ طاب ظاهرهُ
من قائل بتّ مسروراً بظاهره
2. Look in his eyes to test his fair display,
Truth keeps hid what the heart doth slight.
٢. انظر إلى عينهِ بالحسنِ مختبراً
صدق الذي ظل يخفي في ضمائرهِ
3. The eyes lie not about what's in his mind
While words may lie about what's in his mind
٣. لا تكذبُ العينُ عمّا في سرائرهِ
ويكذب اللفظ عمّا في سرائره
