Subsisting on the barest necessities

2. I've seen naught but false friendships
Self-interest, empty manners and pretense

3. The death of the aged, the life of a babe
The rising and setting of the sun

4. The Tigris, Euphrates and Nile of Egypt
And waves beyond count crash ashore

5. The earth settles, soft dunes repose
As mountains stand anchored and vast

6. No intercessor have I found more powerful
Than round white bread, freshly baked

7. Loaves split open, halves and quarters stacked
My Lord, grant me this bread in plenty

8. At dawn and dusk, my lawful right
So I need not beg, until my numbered days are up
