1. I said to one grieving a bosom friend lost,
"Let fall a tear and more if sadness crossed."

2. Grieve not if borrowed joys take wing and fly,
They fleet until their time has come and gone.

3. Know that all worldly boons by Allah lent
Will surely to their source magnificent,
