1. They said, "Her eyes complained." I replied,
"From so much killing, soreness struck them."
١. قالوا اشتكت عينها فقلت لهم
من كثرة القتل مسّها الوصبُ
2. I reddened them with the blood of those I killed,
And blood on the blade is a wondrous witness.
٢. حمرتُها من دماء من قتلت
والدم في النصل شاهدٌ عجبٌ
