1. The blame is lifted from the blind
As a child in the tender season slips,
١. سقط العتاب عن الفقي
د كما من فصل الصغير
2. And from him whose vision is obscured
When in blindness his steps mislead,
٢. وعن الضرير إذا هفا
او حل حتى أدب النصير
3. And from the aged when he stumbles
Through the feebleness of many a year;
٣. وعن الكبير إذا أسنّ وق
د لعم بالقتير
4. They are not burdened for their weakness
With reproach like an earthen pot;
٤. لا يلزمون لعجزهم
حمل المروءة كالقدر
5. But rather they are pitied and excused
For presumptuousness in their affairs.
٥. بل يرحمون ويعذرو
