1. O Abu Al-Qasim, the literate one, and O you who
Are my intimate whether present or absent,

2. I do not see any knowledge that teaches my gathering
This beautiful one whose rising is auspicious,

3. With a written contract and conditions,
And witnesses on a written platform,

4. Resembling the contract of slaves when
It is written fearing an unexpected accident,

5. The fugitive was set free, and that con-
dition did not avail the seeker or the sought.

6. I turned with this to a knowledgeable jurist
In the system of learning and its order.

7. I am not knowledgeable in the writings of conditions
Where the lover and beloved evade.

8. Be warned that if you add to it the whole
I would be pleased with the humility of teaching.

9. Perhaps the companion lays in the opinion so the
lapse of the accompanied returns him.

10. How many a doctor protects a patient, so his
haughtiness harms the desired.
