1. Blaming fate is foolishness with no gain
God gives whom He wills and denies whom He denies

2. Livelihood is predestined with wisdom of the Creator
It is said there are four, each flanked by four

3. Fortune and misfortune are constant with wisdom
Misfortune brings low and good fortune raises up

4. They have causes, so he who is stuck with misfortune
It indicates he will not succeed

5. A capable man may fail to obtain what he hopes for
While a coward who bows may gain the best

6. The wise advance through hard work while others
Whether lame or handless stay in their place

7. Except me, for I suffer painful torment
Straitened living though blessings are no use

8. I have ambition, perception, talent
Without hard work you'll not see me make any

9. My hopes speak to me of future hard work
Though hopes in old age are self-deceit

10. If time's wheel should turn favourably for me
Youth and prime will return to me

11. Complaints to time for its sorrows are foolishness
Frustration increases but does not depart

12. Reproaching days is profound ignorance
Reproach is wasted like a slip of paper

13. My silence over braves' misfortunes is wisdom
The silence of one circumspect who does not hear

14. The vipers too are silent due to cunning
As is the croaking frog for its protection

15. Glory to our Master, exalted is His majesty
In adversities we truly take refuge in Him

16. How wondrous is this world and its curious matter
The living die and drops are deposited

17. This one dies and that suddenly is born
Death reaps while The Sustainer sows

18. Death is a cliff and doom an abyss
Death brings low while doom raises up
