1. I have known my fortune, so I have no hope beyond it
And the day I die, I have no respite after it

2. I struggled in seeking the world but it would not allow
So I fell to rationalization and laziness

3. I preserved my dignity's water and was nourished by it
The honorable rule me, not the lowly

4. I am modest in my ambitions except for what I know
Has virtue, and destiny and cycles come to it

5. If I make do and sustenance comes through generosity
Then I do not care for the comfort of camels
