And distracted me from my passion that distracted me

From a place filled with abundant water

3. So I recalled the dawns when the rooster crowed
And cooed, reminding me

4. And I breathed in the spring breeze
That comes from the fragrance of affection

5. Oh nights of passion and intimacy I became
From the talk of wishes

6. What bliss with the river of Ma'qil resisting
Pushing away the descending misfortunes

7. My soul yearns for youth and adolescence
And seizing opportunities and composing poetry

8. What excuse remains when there is no excuse
In neglecting to seize the dawns in April

9. It was said to me, how can you repent from your companion of comfort
And relief from worries with melodies

10. I said, wine has repented from me and I have not
Repented willingly so let it be written

11. My silence about the times is not
For lack in my state but the times are more blameworthy

12. What state is more gentle than mine
What nature will be like my stature

13. Destitute, helpless, poor, estranged
Desperate, lacking, extremely anxious
